About Me…
My name is Jane Schofield and the core of my work is counselling. I have been working as a therapist for over 12 years and I have a private practice (Perspective Counselling, established in 2019) which covers the Kettering, Oundle, Stamford and St Ives area where I see both couples and individuals.
Relationship and couples counselling is one of my specialist areas. I trained with the Relate Institute and was an Accredited Counsellor with Relate working in the Cambridge area from 2010 to 2018. I also have further training in helping clients with loss (eg. bereavement, separation and redundancy) along with depression, anxiety and poor mental health.
With extensive experience in the employability sector I also offer a counselling and career coaching service for people looking for work and struggling to manage the (often) devastating effect of unemployment.
I draw mainly on person-centred, psychodynamic and solution-focused theories. I believe it is not helpful to judge or blame, but to work with you to help you understand how you've arrived at this point in your life and what you would want to be different.
